Cottage Garden

Cottage Garden

The cottage garden is a distinct style that uses informal design, traditional materials, dense plantings, and a mixture of ornamental and edible plants. it is basically an informal style of mixed planting that can be adapted to many gardens. It is uncontrived, with its mix of practical and decorative. There are no rules in cottage gardens – if you like a plant and can find a spot for it, then in it goes!

Paths, arbors, and fences use traditional or antique looking materials. Wooden fences and gates, paths covered with locally made bricks or stone, and arbors using natural materials all give a more casual—and less formal—look and feel to a cottage garden. Pots, ornaments, and furniture also use natural looking materials with traditional finishes—everything is chosen to give the impression of an old-fashioned country garden.

Family Garden

What is a typical :-

Family Garden

Family garden creates a space for the whole family to enjoy. There are generally two areas – adult’s relaxing area and children’s area. The adult relaxing area is best next to the house, with easy access to the kitchen for bringing out drinks and food. Meanwhile, the children’s area must be visible from the house, and can include swings, climbing frames, sandpit etc.

And since it still is a garden, there should also be plenty of flowers – easy-care climbers and clumps of sturdy perennials rather than anything delicate but it’s best to avoid plants with temptingly bright berries, in particular yew or holly bushes because their berries are poisonous, as well asfoxgloves, bluebells and even daffodils.

Mediterranean Garden

What is a typical :-

Mediterranean Garden

Mediterranean gardens are best known for their casual elegance,a weathered look, water features, emphasis on hardscape (patios, courtyards, low walls & terra cotta pots). Inspired by the coastal areas of Spain, Italy and France, this style of garden combines relaxed materials and plants with formal accents and designs.

You won’t find vast expanses of green lawn; instead, plantings are more contained, made of plants that provide texture, colour and structure – think lavender, cypress trees and ornamental grasses, shrubs, perennials, annuals and ground covers than fescue or bluegrass.

A Mediterranean garden inspired landscape will transport you to another world, where you live, not just something you view. The smell of the fragrant herbs, the sound of trickling water and the warm colour of terra cotta will make you want to take a seat and enjoy a glass of wine.
